The Sewer Fund Budget Unit provides for the operation
and maintenance of and
improvements to the Templeton Community Services District
Sanitary Sewer Collection System, the Meadowbrook
Wastewater Treatment Plant and a portion of the Sewer
Interceptor line from Templeton to Paso Robles. The
system includes two lift stations, 15 miles of collection
piping, 2 miles of interceptor line and 1510 service
laterals serving approximately 5,400 residents and
107 businesses.
Routine collection
system operation and maintenance includes repair
of line breaks, inspection of new connections and
annual cleaning of main lines. The lift stations
require daily inspection of pumping equipment and
logging of run hours in addition to unplugging pumps
and check valves.
The Meadowbrook treatment plant must be checked
daily, bar screen cleaned, flow monitored, routine
maintenance of the spray field and pond conditions
monitored and wastewater samples collected for analysis.
Monthly, quarterly and annual reports are sent to
the Regional Water Quality Control Board.
In addition, maintenance on District vehicles and
equipment is performed, as described under water
programs.
The Sewer Fund also finances the retirement of one
loan. To cover the cost of the Certificates of Participation
issued for the sewer plant purchase.
